Task
Amid the Corona crisis, banks were declared systemically important companies. In the past few weeks we have had many conversations with our customers, telling us about their needs and concerns during the crisis. Their questions had an enormous range: How can I absorb short-term financial shocks? How can I take care of my older relatives' daily transactions? Can I do something to reduce the risk of similar events in the future? In addition, some interesting trends have emerged: More and more people have tried digital banking services and rediscovered them for themselves. They rethink their priorities in terms of consumption, their saving behavior or how they can support their communities.
What are we looking for?
We at Erste want to learn about your experiences and newly emerged needs triggered by the crisis. Tell us about your ideas and expectations with regards to banking services in the Post-COVID-19-Era:
- What personal strategies have you developed to deal with the financial implications in your new reality and how can these be translated into services or products?
- Did you change your approach how to handle your family budget? Do you already have best practices which could be useful for others?
- Did you lack any financial know-how/information which could have made it easier for you to handle the new situation?
- Do you have any new saving/insurance/daily transaction/finance needs which are hard to cover with already existing offerings on the market?
- Did you experience any shift in your personal values and beliefs which might trigger financial implications? (e.g. different way of working, different investment priorities, ...)
- etc.
Considering all this: How should a bank support you now and after the Corona-crisis? What are the services and products which you would value most and how should they be designed for user friendliness?
